Homemade Delicious Oatmeal Banana Cookies

Homemade Delicious Oatmeal Banana Cookies

Nice, scrumptious, and chewy cookies can be made by mixing oatmeal with flour and sugar, a combination that is not widely known in lieu of the famous and reliable chocolate chip. We can take this a step further and add bananas to make a delightful, appealing flavor. One of the best aspects of oatmeal banana cookies is that it is a much healthier breakfast alternative, sporting more protein, manganese, and iron than other sugar cookie types, while still being able to satisfy your sweet tooth. It is also easy to make, with banana being the best mix-in in my opinion because it is cheap, gives the cookie a unique texture, and has a reliable mixing consistency for multiple batches. The recipe is as follows:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of butter/margarine (do not add salt if using salted butter)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of old fashioned oats
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 1 whole banana, sliced
  • 1 cup of granulated white sugar
  • 1 cup of brown sugar

*This recipe produces a yield of 48 cookies.*

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Mix together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in a medium bowl. Use of an electric mixer is highly recommended.
  3. Whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. This will be your dry mix.
  4. In your butter and sugar bowl, blend in the eggs one at a time and add vanilla.
  5. Put the dry mix in your butter bowl and mix until everything is combined nicely.
  6. Add mix ins! Banana and oats are our primary choice, but you can add in raisins, walnuts, or peanut butter if you wish. If the dough becomes too sticky to scoop out, either wait a bit or add a slight amount of water.
  7. Scoop out dough and shape into balls no more than 1 ¾ inches long and no greater than 40 grams in weight. Set them on baking sheets prepared on rectangular baking pans, pans can be any size you wish.
  8. Put the pan in your preheated oven. Set baking time to 12-15 minutes
  9. Take out baked cookies and repeat with remaining dough.

You can store the oatmeal banana cookies for later use in an airtight, sealed container at room temperature. They are perfect snacks in the morning and midday for their high fiber and protein content, giving you lasting energy throughout the day. 1 oatmeal banana cookie contains around 230 calories, comparable to an energy bar.
